International mission

The Ukrainian state and the Ukrainian people sincerely appreciate the assistance of international partners in the fight against Russian aggression. Together, we uphold the principles of democracy and freedom.

Why is it relevant in Ukraine?

The war in Ukraine has had a catastrophic impact on the environmental situation in the country, and the consequences of this disaster will affect more than one generation of Ukrainians. Air pollution from missile explosions, destruction and damage to energy and industrial facilities, destruction of forests, fields and rivers, and increased emissions of harmful emissions into the atmosphere are not a complete list of Ukraine’s environmental disaster.

In such circumstances, Europe will also feel the negative environmental impact. From air pollution to the food crisis

International studies

Under the auspices of the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), a preliminary study was conducted on the impact of the war in Ukraine on the environmental situation. Its authors report on air, water, and soil pollution, forest fires, and hazardous military waste. They conclude that the next generation of Ukrainians and their neighbors will live with the “toxic legacy” of the current war.

UNEP Executive Director Inger Andersen said: “Ukraine needs huge international support to assess, mitigate and repair the damage across the country, as well as to reduce risks to the entire region.”

Ruslan Strilets, Minister of Environmental Protection of Ukraine, notes that “when communicating with colleagues from Europe, he notes that the consequences of the war are catastrophic for the entire European continent.”

For example, in 2021, about 2 million tons of toxic substances were released into the atmosphere. For the six months of the war in Ukraine in 2022, air emissions amounted to 46 million tons.

Requirements

What can and should we do?

Ukraine needs the support of our partners around the world, with whose help we are fighting together for the right to freedom and democracy. We are looking for donors, aiming to receive grants for green energy, attract manufacturers of green industry equipment to Ukraine, and engage international experts and organizations to improve the situation in the green energy sector and economy.

Charitable support and grant financing of innovative projects for the modernization, construction and restoration of businesses, industrial enterprises, infrastructure and social facilities (education, housing, culture, medicine) based on the principles of the green economy with the use of low-carbon technologies that are guaranteed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Conclusions

Ukraine needs help from international partners to recover its green energy facilities and economy. We have all the conditions to prevent an environmental and food disaster that will have an impact on Europe and the whole world.

We are appealing to you and counting on you to join our mission, which is to raise funds to finance projects for the building, modernization and reconstruction of industrial facilities and infrastructure, as well as the social sphere, based on the principles of a green economy using low-carbon technologies to support and develop business in Ukraine. Your participation can greatly contribute to preventing an environmental catastrophe in Ukraine and on the entire planet.
